Our story
Memory Lane Café began with a simple idea: to create a welcoming place where people affected by dementia could come together, share companionship, and feel supported. Since opening, the café has grown into a community built on kindness and understanding.
Who we support
Our doors are open to:
We know how important it is to find a safe, understanding space during these journeys. The café exists to provide just that.

Our values
We are guided by three simple values:
Kindness
Every visitor is welcomed with warmth
Community
No one should feel alone on this journey
Companionship
Sharing everyday moments makes a difference
Powered by our volunteers
Our volunteers and supporters are at the heart of everything we do. From serving tea and chatting with guests to organising games, crafts, and entertainment, their kindness brings warmth and joy to every session.
They’re also a big part of our adventures beyond the café — joining us on day trips, outings, and even our much-loved annual holiday.
Their time, energy, and generosity help create a welcoming space where friendships can grow and memories can be shared.
Quite simply, Memory Lane Café wouldn’t be the same without them, and we’re endlessly grateful for the difference they make every single week.
Looking ahead
Although the café is currently full, we remain committed to supporting as many people as possible. We also share our experiences to inspire similar projects across Suffolk, helping other communities create safe spaces like ours.
